Visit Bolton

BoltonBolton is Caledon's largest urban centre with a population of just under 30,000. It is where you will find the largest concentration of shopping and restaurants and the only large hotel, the new Hampton Inn.

Downtown Bolton (at King St and Queen St) is where the Village started - once known as Bolton Mills - named after George and James Bolton who built the first water-powered grist mill in 1822 on the Humber River. A number of the historic buildings remain.

Grab a meal or an ice cream and stroll along the river on the Humber Valley Heritage Trail or make your way up to Dick's Dam Park, a scenic gem.

Keeping true to the agricultural roots of the community you won't want to miss the Farmers' Market every Saturday morning, June to October, the Truck and Tractor Pull in June and Fall Fair in September.

And from June to September, the 4th Saturday brings special events in the historic core area from 11:00 to 2:00. Music, food, sidewalk sales and more.

Wondering about the history of this Village and some of the great 19th century buildings? Take a stroll back in time with a Self-Guided Heritage Walking Tour.
