1. Special and Spooky Events

Fall events are right around the corner and it’s time to start marking your calendars! There’s so many activities happening in Caledon this year all thanks to the wonderful businesses. Maybe you want to paint in the pumpkins at Davis Family Farm? Perhaps take a wagon ride at the Terra Cotta Conservation Area. If you’re looking to get spooked, join the Haunted Forest Walk at Rusty Jade Ranch. For a longer list of what’s going on this October, view our events page here

2. Hikes and Trails

Autumn hiking is a fan favourite, and how could we blame you? With the vibrant colours of the trees and the leaves crunching under your feet, the fall vibes are high. A walk in the woods is a must-do to check off your fall bucketlist. Caledon has a variety of terrain, ranging from the Niagrara Escarpment, meadows, wetlands, badlands and more. If you’re lucky you might spot a white-tailed deer or hear the woodpeckers high in the trees. To choose your next outdoor adventure, view our parks and trails here.

3. Visit a Farm

Did you really think we could write a list of fall activities without including a visit to the farm? Caledon is known for it's rural charm and agricultural heritage. Apple picking, pumpkins, animals, tractor rides-the list keeps going! Whether you are looking for a cozy date, family outing or to snap the perfect pic for the gram, we’re here for your farm needs. The best part? The fun can continue on at home! Take your best shot at baking a homemade pie with your apple pickings, or have a little friendly competition with a pumpkin carving contest. To view our full list of farms, see our farm fresh page here.

4. Beer and Cider

Cheers! There’s no better way to unwind after your fall hike than with a cold local beer or cider. Join us for a drink at one of our breweries, or perhaps a cider from Spirit Tree Estate Cidery or Downey’s Farm. Enjoy fall colours on a patio in early fall, and later in the season you can still take a seat inside. Refuel with a bite to eat while you’re at it. Local never tasted so good.

5. Heritage Walk

Take a walk back in time to learn the history of Caledon. Our self-guided heritage walking tours make a great fall activity. You’ll learn about the old homes, churches, storefronts and all of the people that inhabited them. Wear your coziest flannel and grab a coffee to go and you’ll be set for this adventure!

6. Cycle and Coffee

‍One of our favourite places to cycle during fall is the Caledon Trailway. This trail stretches 35km from Terra Cotta to Palgrave and follows an abandoned rail line built in 1877. The trail is relatively flat and straight, so whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, this activity is for everyone. One of our favourite things about the trail is that you’ll find our cozy cafes stationed along it. Stop in for a bite and drink at Coywolf Coffee in Inglewood, or the Four Corner’s Bakery in Caledon East.

7. Horseback Riding

Let’s get ready to go to the stables! Caledon is widely known for our rural land and equestrian culture, so it’s only fitting to add horseback riding to this list. Besides, what time is more perfect than fall-hearing the leaves crunch beneath the horse's hooves. Visitors looking to ride this fall can inquire with Teen Ranch Canada or Rusty Jade Ranch

8. Golf

Did you hear that? It’s the sound of fall ball! For our golf fans, autumn in Caledon brings a unique charm to the course. With crisp air and stunning foliage painting the landscape, each round feels like an adventure. Plus, fewer crowds mean you can take your time and truly enjoy the beautiful surroundings. So grab your clubs, soak in the vibrant views, and make the most of this perfect season for golfing! See our courses here.
